Part of my childhood was spent in the suburbs of Chicago and the other part in Scottsdale, AZ. Eventually I came back to my roots and live in Chicago – must have missed the pizza!
I first started writing around the third grade. This was when I started keeping journals about what was happening in my exciting life at school. You know, who beat who in kickball, what boy was the cutest that week, etc. My interest expanded in fourth grade to writing Charlie’s Angels plays and somehow convincing my friends to act them out with me in front of our class. (Thanks to Mr. Mouritsen for indulging me!) My love for reading began the moment I was able to read my first words and has never stopped. Love for reading surpassed my desire to write for quite a few years (although I still kept journals).
About ten years ago, I started to periodically write some children’s stories. Before completing them, a story for a novel popped into my mind and wouldn’t stop nagging at me, so I had to take the challenge. I completed my first manuscript approximately four months later. Then, I jumped in - learning that the world of writing is vast. I joined writing groups, submerged myself in books on writing, swapped pages for critiques, rewrote, rewrote and rewrote (oh, did I mention rewrote?) pages of my manuscript. My head has not stopped spinning!
And, here I am today.
Thank you for taking time to learn more about me and please take time to check out my works in progress page to learn about my writing.
